Post 8: Arts

I think art is important because the mission of it is show to the people the reality with images. In fact, i like Courbet because he wanted to show the real life of the workers, and he had ideas of Marxism and Socialism in his paintings. i think that Arts are a weapon for made more digerible the ideas with many kinds of forms.
i was interested in arts since my childhood. I remember when my mother maked me draw and paint in papers, and i remind that i played a lot with paints, papers, cartons and anything that I had near to me, in fact i made a lot of toys with this materials. In 2000 I took an Oil Painting class, but i was so bored in this because i was the only child in it! So i decided to quit. Then in 2007, I took Dye and Painting Classes in my School, because we have to take an obligatory extra class of arts or sports on Mondays.

My best artistic abilities are everything except sculpture. I really hate sculpture because I don't have "3d" abilities. Well, talking serious, i think that my artistic abilities are painting and drawing... i also like the textile arts but that is my hobby. I never participate in art competitions because I am so lazy. I really like the work of Alyssa Monks, Sylvia Ji and Conrad Rosset, and i want to paint like them one day.

I like modern art sometimes. When they have any message I usually like them, but if it is "art for art" I don't like it too much, because I like when the artist expresses himself and shows a message to the people... that's why I like graffitis like ones of the artists "Os Gemeos" or Banksy".

One of my favourite visual art expression is Guerrilla Gardening and Yarn Bombing, because the public art is the best form to near people to the visual arts.

Finally, i can say that my favourite artist of this year (because my favourite artist last year was Audrey Kawasaki) is Michael Borremans. I really like the things that he paint, the colours and the atmosphere that he makes in his paintings. It shows a break of the quotidian and no quotidian things and that's really amazing.

Post 7: Related Website

One of my favorite website is Felt Cafe. My speciality in my career is Painting but i really love another disciplines like Fiber Art. I studied Fashion Design in 2010 and I knew an older fibre technique called Felting and i keep doing this.
Felt Cafe is a website by a woman who lives in Kyoto, Japan, and she sell Japanese craft books. She makes a lot of objects with this technique.
This website is separated in different parts, like:

* "Craft guide" where you can find photos of the books that she sells, and a lot of tutorials in it (this is the most interesting section), and it's wonderful because all is made of whool!!
* "Japanese craft shop" in this link you can find her Shop at Etsy.
* "Felt Cafe Japan Design Shop" in this link you can find her Shop at "bigcartel"
* "About" in this section you can find information about the shop and the designer.

I learned a lot of this technique in this page, and that why i recommend it for the people who wants to learn about felting and a lot of things that you can do with felt! (now i want to make felt slippers... but i need a shoe shape of wood!)
